
Cristina Castro

Bio
Cristina Castro (Porto, 1974) lives and works in Porto. Doctoral student in
Contemporary Art at the College of Arts of the University of Coimbra, her
research studies the visual possibilities of perception of the invisible
occurrences in pictorial landscape, depicting a game of presence and absence.
Lecturer of drawing and contemporary art at the School of Media Arts and Design,
Polytechnic Institute of Porto (ESMAD), where she coordinates the Foundation
course. She holds a Master degree in Museology and Cultural Heritage by the
Faculty of Arts of the University of Coimbra and a degree in Fine Arts Painting
by the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (FBAUP). She taught
mosaic and stained glass at FBAUP, scenography at RTP média parque, drawing at
the Government College of Art and Craft, Calcutta and at the School of Education
of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança. She has created the museum programme
for Casa Ateliê Oliveira Ferreira, Miramar, Vila Nova de Gaia City Council. She
participates in solo and group exhibitions since 1995.
