Bio
Luis Leite (aka Grifu) is a multidisciplinary artist , developer and researcher
with particular focus on digital animation and interactive media. Works in ESMAD
as a teacher, assuming the direction of the Multimedia Department and the
direction of the Master’s in Interactive Media and Systems. His motivation is to
create innovative solutions for impossible challenges and to facilitate the use
of technologies as creative tools. Holds a PhD in Digital Media (Cum Laude) and
a MA in Multimedia, both from University of Porto in the fields of digital
puppetry and performance animation, and a bachelor in Multimedia at ISMAI. His
professional profile begun in the early 1990’s as a computer programmer, and
gradually progressed to the audiovisual, and the multimedia fields, working in
studios such as Miragem and Animago. Participated in solo and group exhibitions
and collaborated in productions such as “Major Alvega” (Live Action plus
animation TV Series - Emmy award selection), “História de um Caramelo” (Short
animated film), “Peregrinação” (Live Cinema), “Frágil” (Puppet play),
“Solitária” (Performance).
